Use Micro Journaling to Feel Better in Just 60 Seconds

The purpose of life is to be happy.

However, if you’re like most people you find that happiness can be rather elusive.

We spend our days doing what seems to be an endless stream of meaningless chores, so that we can keep up with the Jones’s. Keep up with our social media accounts and make sure we fit into our societal niche.

Annie Dillard said: “How we spend our days is, of course how we spend our lives.”

Yes, of course we have all these responsibilities, chores, and tasks that we need to get done each day.

But, over and above that…

How Are You Spending Your Days?
Are you doing things that make you happy?
Are you doing things that make you feel fulfilled?

Let Me Ask You Another Question

Do you have a daily routine where you take a few minutes or heck, even just a single minute out of your day to make yourself feel better, to make yourself happy?

Or are you caught in a rut that seems like, the more gas you give it, the deeper you dig the rut?

I Have a Happiness Exercise for You

What if there was a way that you could take just 1 minute out of your busy day and make yourself feel better, be happier, and even help you achieve your goals? Would that sound good to you?

If you’re like nearly everyone else, you bet it sounds good, right?

This is completely free to do, you can do it in a minute, and it flat out works.

Here’s All You Need to Do

Break out your journal. If you don’t have one, then no sweat, just use a notebook or you can use a blank writing document on your computer.
Whether it’s Windows or Mac it makes no difference.

Break out your journal, notepad or cyber paper and answer this question: what would make me feel better right now?

What I mean by that is; I want you to take a short mental vacation. Describe what that vacation would be, what it would feel like and most importantly what you would feel like when taking it.

You can do this with your eyes open or closed, whichever works best for you.

Describe the best parts of it, those that would make you the happiest.

See yourself being there, really feel it.

Feel it so deeply that you can smell the scents in the air and even taste the foods or beverages.

How do you feel?

Now, write it down. Go into detail on the feelings, the sights, sounds, and smells.

This little mini vacation will perk up your mental happiness levels and motivate you to go take your vacation as well.

You can take a mini vacation like this as often as you want.

You can take new ones each time, or you can enhance and upgrade your existing mini vacations.

The main point is that you’ll feel happier the rest of the day having taken a break and mentally lived out a dream.
